Event Rules
This is NOT a race it is a game of chance
Attendance at the Driver's Meeting is mandatory
Boats must maintain a distance of at least 100 feet while under way
Boats must maintain a distance of at least one quarter mile off shore for the duration of the poker run (excluding entering and exiting card stops)
Maintain safe distances and stay clear of all other boats not participating in the event while underway
Watch carefully for kayaks at all times and remember they are difficult to see especially with waves
Be courteous and yield right of way to other watercraft at all times
Proof of insurance must be provided for all boats
The release form must be signed for all participants in the event
For the organized starts from Ashland and after lunch, all participants are to remain behind the pace boat until after the green flag is raised
All participants must display their assigned boat number on their boat so they are clearly visible
No alcohol consumption is permitted on Saturday until after the boating event is over
Participants are required to abide by all local, state, and federal laws
Boats may only be rafted 4 wide at the lunch stop in Bayfield and may only be moored in designated areas
Boats must maintain minimum idle speed within 1/2 mile of the Bayfield Harbor and Ashland Marina
Boats must enter and leave the Bayfield Harbor in an orderly fashion without interfering with the operation of other watercraft or the Madeline Island Ferry line
Boats must wait outside the Bayfield Harbor (clear of the harbor entrance) for space availability and direction from event officials before entering the harbor for lunch
No revving engines in harbors and marinas
Operate at minimum noise levels around harbors and marinas
It is recommended that life jackets and tethers be worn for the duration of the poker run
Failure to abide by the Poker Run Rules will result in being disqualified from further participation in the event
